This is the eagerly awaited restaurant by the celebrity chef, Grant Achatz, and it just opened up its restaurant doors, and it’s garnered some wide praise so far. This is a restaurant that’s definitely world-class, and it’s consistently treated its guests to an impressive cocktail experience, and this bar just brings even more innovation to the area of mixology too.
Bar DeVille is definitely my favorite bar in all of Chicago. It’s a real neighborhood bar, where you can go with the chums and just kick back a few. If you want the real Chicago experience, as far as hanging out with the locals, then this is the place to go to. It has a real relaxed atmosphere, and whether you’re drinking Ramos Gin Fizz, tequila shots, beer, or whiskey, you’ll have a great time when you’re here. You should try a shot of Jeppson’s Malort Liqueur if you’re here.
Big Star is all about the tacos, beer, tequila, and whiskey. Is there any other preferred way that you should be spending your evenings? There is probably no better use of your time than to spend your time here on a lazy Chicago night when you’re here. It’s a great experience, and it’s a wonderful thing to get to enjoy when you’re out late at night. There’s just something about the lights in Chicago. The people and the downtown dining atmosphere are just something.
Boka has some amazing seasonally-driven cuisine that’s really contemporary. Ben Schiller is the lead bartender there, and he’s an integral part of the culinary team as well. There is an inspired menu, but it’s much too short. There are some excellent dishes by the main chef there too, Guiseppe Tentori. You should try the Old Money drink if you’re there.
Some amazing consultants, the Tippling Bros., have been working with restaurants in New York for quite some time. They set up this bar in Chicago, and there is an amazing list of classic and original concoctions here too. You should try the Cheeky Cheeky Boom if you’re here.
