Best Bars in Milwaukee

Like its big Midwest brother, Chicago, to the south, Milwaukee’s nightlife is varied, from old-time hipster-mania to the post-industrial collection of warehouse clubs located in brick-faced, unmarked, music venues. Milwaukee’s early reputation as a beer-making mecca has left the town loaded with brews of every kind; no matter which local bar you end up in, whether it’s a tavern, brewpub, or a lounge, you’re almost guaranteed a fine array of brewed selection. Though the typical drink prices tend to be a little steeper than in the other cities and towns, the large student population brings a vast selection of dive bars to the scene, and many of them merrily provide happy hour prices geared toward the in need twenty-somethings on a broke college budget. From rowdy neighborhood bars with gourmet menus to fancy joints where Frank Sinatra smoothly croons from a jukebox, neighborhood bars in Milwaukee leave very little room for disappointment.

1836 N Pulaski St
Milwaukee, WI 53202

Wolski’s Tavern has been serving up beer more than 100 years. Founded by Bernie Wolski, his great grandsons operate the tavern today. In the 1970′s people would spend the entire day from open to close at the bar and they kept complaining that they should receive a reward for their patronage. Wolski’s decided to reward them with a bumper sticker to signify that they did indeed close the bar. If you are present at closing you too can earn a bumper sticker. During the 35 years Wolski’s has been in operation and giving out Bumper Stickers, loyal, local Milwaukeens have dispersed them throughout the entire world. Sounds like a fun place to close, huh? We welcome all to come on down!
