Bar Three Fifty-Five

355 19th St
Oakland, CA 94612
(510) 451-3355

The Bar Three Fifty-Five is certainly one of a favorite number of bars Uptown. They certainly have a vast bourbon and scotch selection, their service is timely and their prices are decent. The music at the Bar Three Fifty-Five, especially the 60′s groove, is fantastic. They never seem to have a cover. They offer a great dark and stormy. This is a good time.

The Trappist

The Trappist is a specialty beer café. They offer a diverse beer selection and very hearty solid pub food. The bartenders are very cool servers who know their craft extremely well. You’ve never had seen so many tasty brews in a single location. All in all, this is a fantastic East Bay establishment. For a beer fan in the area, you surely owe it to yourself to stop and have a drink at The Trappist.

The Alley

3325 Grand Ave
Oakland, CA 94610
(510) 444-8505

The Alley is what you would call an awesome and weird bar. It’s called the alley because they constructed it in an alley. It really works and has that must homey feel that is what you desire out of your neighborhood local bar. The Alley is a dark bar that serves a mean, delicious steak. The service is attentive and professional.

Cafe Van Kleef

1621 Telegraph Ave
Oakland, CA 94620
(510) 763-7711
cafevankleef.com

The Café Van Kleef is known for their Greyhound drinks of fresh grapefruit juice and vodka. Also recommended is the Salty Dog, it is a Greyhound with a salty rim and the salt definitely compliments the grapefruit superbly. This bar is most certainly divey, with a diverse crowd, and lots of charm and random things adorning the walls. Just how you want a bar to be! Cafe Van Kleef is such a cool bohemian joint. Did we mention the Greyhounds are just phenomenal? No frills, just plenty of fresh grapefruit juice, a large splash of vodka, and lots of love!

The Avenue

4822 Telegraph Ave
Oakland, CA 94609
(510) 654-1423

The Avenue appears to be a cool dive bar. It is not a “my way or the highway” type of bar. The Avenue has character, it is laid back and has the atmosphere of a bygone rock era. There is no pretense here.
