Drinking age in Belarus
The legal drinking and purchase age in Belarus is 18. There is no difference between the legal drinking and purchase age in the country. That’s significant because some countries have a legal drinking age that is much lower than the legal purchase age. They do that so that families can allow their kids to drink. They do it for social reasons too, in that drinking at meals is different than going out and buying alcohol and getting drunk.
Belarus is one of the top ten countries in the world for drinking. You have to be prepared to embrace the culture when you go there and that means being comfortable with dining and wining. It is an awesome party country, and you can have a special time there if you’re going to some of the clubs and drinking there for the first time when you’re 18. In other European and ex-Soviet Union countries, people drink a lot less. There is a lot of alcohol abuse in Belarus, and the government is cracking down.
It’s complicated when you explore different countries’ drinking age laws. There are different ages for drinking and purchasing in some countries. In some countries, there are different ages for purchasing beer and liquor. In some countries, there is a public purchase and possession age, and there is another drinking age. Sometimes, there are exceptions to the drinking age law. For example, if some families deem it’s alright for their children to drink inside the home, then they are allowed to let them drink. In some countries, it is alright as a general cultural principle, for children to drink at meals.
Beer and wine are normal parts of most meals in different countries. It’s only in America where alcohol isn’t given at most dinner meals to people who are under the age of 18. There are a number of countries around the world that don’t even allow drinking, though. There are Islamic countries that have completely outlawed drinking. There are some countries that have made it illegal because of their Islamic religion.
Belarus has some of the best nightclubs in the world, and there are people who come from all over the world, and Europe as well especially, to party at some of Belarus’s amazing nightclubs. One of the best things about traveling when you’re a young person is that you can drink there when you’re 18. It’s a truly liberating experience to be able to drink when you’re not allowed to in your home country. Belarus is the country to do it in.
You have to be careful when you’re drinking in Belarus though. You don’t want to get caught out there at a bar with some misbehavior. You could end up in a cell in a Belarus jail. You might not be able to get out for some time. Some of their jails are different than others. You want to make sure that you never misbehave, and you always have friends with you.
